Stay Safe !FREE!

Safe Stay is an industry-wide initiative focused on enhanced hotel cleaning practices, social interactions, and workplace protocols to meet the new health and safety challenges and expectations presented by COVID-19. We are bringing a new level of transparency and confidence to the entire hotel experience. The Safe Stay guidelines were developed with the help of outside industry experts such as Ecolab and have been reviewed by the CDC. The guidelines and protocols have and will continue to evolve based on the recommendations of public health authorities and in compliance with federal, state, and local laws.

Stay Safe

Safe Stay Communities are temporary housing communities offering residents greater access to services, increased stability, and safe, healthy, and humane living conditions to support transitioning out of homelessness. Each Safe Stay Community has 20 two-person structures that offer safe shelter for up to 40 residents. A nonprofit operator will provide 24/7 onsite management and services.

Health and safety are major priorities for the City and its partners. For this reason, all Safe Stay Communities will have screening or fencing, will provide sanitation and hygiene services, and offer a range of health services on site.

Seeing a bear in the wild is a special treat for any visitor to a national park. While it is an exciting moment, it is important to remember that bears in national parks are wild and can be dangerous. Their behavior is sometimes unpredictable. Although rare, attacks on humans have occurred, inflicting serious injuries and death. Each bear and each experience is unique; there is no single strategy that will work in all situations and that guarantees safety. Most bear encounters end without injury. Following some basic guidelines may help to lessen the threat of danger. Your safety can depend on your ability to calm the bear.

Beat the heat and stay safe as summer heats up. Prepare yourself for the high temperatures.According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), sickness from the heat occurs when your body cannot compensate and properly cool you off. However, heat-related illness and death are preventable. Before the next heat wave, or outdoor activity, follow these protective actions from the CDC and stay cool this summer:

Victimization is a common experience. The justification of carrying because of safety concerns is well supported by the fact that young adults who reported having carried a gun were more likely to experience violent victimization than those who reported never having carried a gun. Those who had been shot or shot at in the past 12 months were 300 percent more likely to have ever carried a gun.

When young adults were asked about potential factors that might reduce gun carrying and promote safety, more law enforcement was not the most common response. Instead, they mentioned the need for employment and addressing peer influences around gun carrying and use. They also highlighted the importance of addressing social norms and perceptions that encourage gun carrying.

According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, alcohol-related incidents lead to roughly 1,800 deaths, 700,000 assaults, and 100,000 sexual assaults each year among students aged 18-24. To avoid risky situations, consider using the following tips to create safety plans for yourself and your friends before leaving home.

You can dramatically increase your chances of remaining safe while still having a good time at a college party by taking a few precautionary steps. Talk with your friends about uncomfortable situations that may require a plan B, and don't be afraid to leave a party early if you feel uneasy.

As far back as elementary school, you've been advised to use the buddy system. This sage advice remains true at college. Sticking together helps ensure no one is left behind and that everyone has a safe way home. Pair up before you go to avoid confusion later.

Make sure you know your limits before you go out. It doesn't take much to register above the legal limit on a blood alcohol test if you're driving. And it's essential to know how many drinks are too many so you can avoid putting yourself in an unsafe situation.

If you're going to an unfamiliar area, take time to check it out before you go. Look for various routes to get to the destination, and make sure you know how to get back home. Many campuses have blue safety lights installed throughout campus, so be mindful of their locations before going out.

If you get separated from your friends and can't contact them, leave them a message and then call for an Uber or Lyft ride home. This may be safer than accepting a ride from someone you don't know well. Check with your campus safety department before going out, as many offer discounted rates for students who use Uber or Lyft.

Consider the street to be shared. All users should respect others, allowing each to use the street together. Pedestrians and bicyclists should move to the side of the street when necessary to allow motorists to safely pass on the left. Motorists and bicyclists should drive slowly, passing other street users on the left, only when it is safe to do so.

If you decide to leave your situation, you will want to take certain items with you. Remember, your safety is top priority. If you need to leave without these items in order to be safe, do so. Some people give an extra copy of papers and an extra set of clothing to a friend just in case they have to leave quickly.

If you are sick, please stay home. Even if symptoms are mild, please stay home and learn or work remotely if you are able. We ask professors and supervisors to encourage and support this behavior by providing alternative arrangements for learning and work to continue remotely. 041b061a72
